Chashu Ramen at Sushi Nami Royale | St. John’s, NL

$12.95 | Homemade milky and creamy Tonkotsu (pork bone) broth served with boiled eggs, bamboo shoots, black mushroom, sweet corn and green onion.

There are not a lot of Asian restaurants in St. John’s. One of the popular ones is Sushi Nami Royale so we wanted to have a nice warm ramen during that cold night.

The Chashu Ramen was a pretty good bowl of ramen. The pork chasu was nice and flavourful. The ramen noodles I really loved. It was perfectly al dente. We asked the server if it was homemade. She said it was actually flown from Japan. It may not be freshly homemade, but it is authentic!

One issue I had is the pork broth was a little bland, unlike the very flavourful ones in Toronto. But maybe this isn’t bland but the Toronto one being salty and I got used to it?

It’s definitely an OK place to visit if you’re looking for Asian food.
