A small 10BBL micro-brewery, Bandit Brewery was the host to Yelp Toronto’s Elite Event on August 2, 2016.
As I love beers, I’ve been wanting to check this place out since it opened in Roncesvalles but it’s too far west from where I live. I was glad to have the reason to finally go!
Brew-ha-ha Yelp Elite Event
Bandit Brewery was closed for the entire event. The Yelp Elite crew were chilling and hanging at the very nice outdoor patio or in the open-air lounge, where the band Native Other was playing some live music.
The weather was so nice to be out in the patio and you can still hear the music from the lounge! Double win!
When we arrived, we went thru the entrance to be greeted by Evelyn and Chantel. We received two tickets for beers of our choice.
Bandit Brewery Beers
This was on top of the two free-flowing beers that were already provided.
Chantel scanned our Party Passes as we went in and we donated $5 to Parkdale Project Read, a non-profit, community-based literacy program that operates an adult learning centre in the Parkdale community.
During the event, we were able to sample free-flowing beers of the Hassel Hef and Patio Hopper Lager. I really enjoyed the Hassel Hef as it was refreshing, smooth and light.
The Patio Hopper Lager was pretty good too, especially because I didn’t find it too hoppy (I’m not fan of hoppy beer).
For my two tickets, I tried the Raspberry Session Ale and Cone Ranger IPA. Love love love the Raspberry Session Ale as it has a strong Raspberry flavour but not too strong that it doesn’t taste like beer.

Bandit Brewery Food
As we settled in, food started to come out. We got to sample the following:
- Fresh cut fries with parmesan, herbs, aioli
- Beer-battered cheese curds
- Seared hanger steak with chimichurri on a baguette
- Tuna on cucumber
My favorites were the beer-battered cheese curds and seared hangar steak. I’ve never had cheese curds like this before and this one was amazingly done, very fresh cheese and the hint of beer was so good.
The seared hangar steak was cooked perfectly and loved the chimichurri on it.
During the event, there was also an instagram photo contest where the winner won a 4-pack of Bandit Brewery Beer.
Such an awesome Event! Thanks to Yelp Toronto team for setting this up and to Bandit Brewery for hosting!
