Looking for where to stay in Singapore? A 4-stay hotel, Park Hotel Alexandra is one of the best hotels outside the hustle and bustle of the city.
Did you know? Park Hotel Alexandra won Asia’s Leading New Hotel in 2016 by World Travel Awards

Though it’s away from the city centre, the hotel is still convenient being located next the three-storey shopping mall Alexandra Central, across from Queensway Shopping Centre, diagonally across from Alexandra Village Food Centre, and also near Singapore’s historical and cultural heritage of Tiong Bahru and Chinatown.

Crystal Club Room at Park Hotel Alexandra
Price: From SGD240/night
I loved my stay at the Crystal Club Room which is on the top floors 17-19. When you first enter this 24 square meter room, the first thing that will wow you right away is the beautiful panoramic views of The Southern Ridges and city skyline!

I had a very comfortable Queen Bed, though you can also have an option for 2 Twin Beds.

There’s a 42″ Full HD LED TV with Cable with the work station beside it.

Beside the bed is the mini bar and fridge as well as the space to put your luggage. I love that they gave complimentary bottled waters. I wish all hotels did this.
The bathroom has a window with curtain so you can open that to see the bedroom.

The shower has a walk-in rain shower as well as a hand shower depending on your preference. They use APPELLES Apothecary & Lab for their toiletries like hand & body wash, lotion, shampoo and conditioner.

Bathrobe and slippers are also available. You’ll definitely want to use the bathrobe for the infinity pool they have in the hotel!

Staying at the Crystal Club offers some special privileges too:
- Late check-out at 3pm (subject to availability)
- Daily local newspapers, magazines and books
- A complimentary take away coffee or tea from The Coffee Belt during your stay
- Access to outdoor terrace

The best privilege though is that you gain the awesome benefit of getting access to the Crystal Club Lounge, located on the top floor with wonderful views and the friendliest staff to assist you.

The Crystal Club Lounge gives you all these extra benefits:
- Private check-in and check-out at Crystal Club Lounge
- Complimentary breakfast (daily from 7.00am to 10.30am)
- Complimentary evening cocktails (daily from 5.30pm to 7.30pm)
- All-day light refreshments
- Daily newspaper
- Complimentary laundry up to two pieces per day (non-accumulative)

I checked out breakfast and dinner offerings there and noticed the dishes changed daily. I also loved that it wasn’t the usual continental breakfast but was actually a wide variety from different cuisines like Chinese, Indian and French.

Park Hotel Alexandra Amenities
I always enjoy checking out the amenities at any hotel. The usual things I look for are swimming pool, gym, jacuzzi and steam/sauna.

Though it doesn’t have a jacuzzi and steam/sauna, Park Hotel Alexandra makes it up with a beautiful 25-metre infinity pool overlooking a treetop canopy that has a swim-up bar, Aqua Luna!
This is such a great place to just sit back, or swim up, and relax while enjoying the nature views and sipping a drink. You feel like you’re in an urban oasis!

You’ll want to check out this area at different times of the day to see how the views change especially with The Interlace, the unique apartment building resembling Jenga blocks.

Beside the infinity pool is the 24-hour Gymnasium which is fully equipped with a mix of cardio and strength machines. You also get the views from the gym!

One thing I was initially worried about was, since the hotel is away from the city, it would be harder to tour the places I wanted to visit.
This was immediately solved by their Complimentary Shuttle Service, which takes you to major landmarks and stations like the Harbourfront Centre/MRT, Mapletree Business City and Orchard Road.

For my trip, what I did was I took the shuttle to either Harbourfront MRT or Orchard Road then took the MRT from there. The shuttle also brought people back to the hotel so it’s a big bonus!
For the times where I missed the last shuttle back to the hotel, I would take the MRT to the Queenstown station which is the closest one to the hotel, about a 10-15 minute walk.
Dining Options at Park Hotel Alexandra
The Carvery Restaurant
Buffet Price (Adult/Child): SGD42/21 Lunch, SGD58/29 Weekday Dinner, SGD62/31 Weekend Dinner
During my stay at Park Hotel Alexandra, I definitely wanted to check out The Carvery, one of the best restaurants in Singapore and Singapore’s first dedicated carvery serving premium meats and it’s all-you-can eat!
As a bonus, hotel guests get 20% off their meal at The Carvery. Though they have a la carte menu, I highly recommend doing the all-you-can-eat instead as the a la carte menu is has a small variety.

Being a meat and seafood lover, I was in heaven with the offerings here. When you enter the restaurant, you see the three-metre long meat carving station.
Unlike most places that will only show the cooked meat on the table to be carved, I loved that they showed roasting ovens and rotisserie as well.

For the carving station, they typically have beef, pork and chicken offerings plus one rotating meat dish which can be lamb or pork.
Travelling Foodie Tip: Be on the look-out when they have their bi-weekly Special Aged Meats!

During my visit, they had prime rib, tenderloin, roasted pork and chicken. My favourite was the tenderloin and prime rib which was mouthwateringly tender and flavourful.
I was also surprised how tender and juicy the chicken was then I learned that they roast and baste the meats in their own liquid.
Travelling Foodie Tip: Try their house-made truffle butter with the meats!

There is fresh seafood available as well: shrimps, mussels, sea snail and snow crabs. The seafood changes based on availability. I was told sometimes there are fresh raw oysters as well.

The buffet selection was geared towards European dishes like sausages, corn, charcuterie and cheeses, baked fish and oysters.

They also have a pizza and pasta station where you can see the chefs cook them live a la minute for the buffet.
I honestly just prioritized the carving station and fresh seafood since that was my happy place, and only tried a little from the buffet station.

Aqua Luna Bar
Located on the infinity pool, Aqua Luna is a gorgeous floor-to-ceiling glass enclave with beautiful 180-degree views of the Skyline Ridges. This swim-up bar serves handcrafted cocktails and bar food, reminding me of being in Sandals Montego Bay.

They have specialty cocktails like the Sour Plum Mojito which has crushed fresh mint leaves and sour plum powder then mixed with rum and ginger ale then garnished with sour plums, fresh mint and lime wedge.
This is quite a unique drink but it’s not for everyone. I honestly couldn’t finish it myself because I’m just not used to sour plum.
What I loved instead was their Alexandra Sunset cocktail which has Grand Marnier infused with burnt rosemary mixed along with fresh lime, lemon, pineapple juice and cherry liqueur.

The Coffee Belt
Located at the Park Hotel Alexandra’s lobby, The Coffee Belt solves your coffee fix! This small cafe serves fresh coffee roasts and artisan teas along with homemade baked goods and gourmet sandwiches.
Did you know? Crystal Club guests receive a voucher for free coffee or tea at The Coffee Belt.
I love coffee and the temptations were real every time because I had to leave the hotel or go back to my room. The Coffee Belt is situated in a way where you have to pass it every time and get a whiff of the aroma of fresh coffee roasts.
