There are not a lot of Asian restaurants in St. John’s, Newfoundland. But if you ask locals where to eat Asian food in St. John’s, you’ll surely hear Sushi Nami Royale.
Sushi Nami Royale is one of the best restaurants in St. John’s for Japanese sushi and ramen, which I visited during a cold night to have a nice hot bowl of ramen.
The Chashu Ramen at Sushi Nami Royale was a pretty good bowl of ramen. The pork chasu was nice and flavourful.
I really loved the ramen noodles because they were perfectly al dente.
We asked the server if the ramen noodles were homemade at Sushi Nami Royale. She said it was actually flown from Japan. They may not be freshly made, but at least they’re authentic!
One issue I had with the Chasu Ramen is the pork broth was a little bland compared to the ones in Toronto. But without having a comparison with another ramen in St. John’s, it’s hard to say if that’s the norm in the city.
Nonetheless, it’s definitely one of the best places to eat Asian food in St. John’s!
