Travelling Foodie visits Toronto Christmas Market at the Distillery District

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Toronto thanks to Toronto Christmas Market! Ranked one of the Top 10 Holiday Markets in the World, Toronto Christmas Market is back on its 7th year to let you rediscover the magic and romance of Christmas. The market is running from November 18 to December 22, 2016 at The Distillery Historic District.

The first time I visited was in 2014. It was free back then but now has a $6 entrance fee during Fridays, starting at 5PM, and Weekends to reduce the mass of crowds. This is my second visit which I did on a Monday, December 5, 2016, to avoid crowds and the entrance fee, but I didn’t check prior because it turns out they were closed on Mondays.

All the stalls were closed and pushed to the sides, but what’s important is the iconic 52-foot Norway Spruce Christmas tree and all the lighting around The Distillery. I can’t complain much as at least this means not much crowd so it was a great way to take photos.

The air of Christmas is still around because of all the lights and the Christmas tree. There’s also a big lighted sign counting down the number of days until Christmas.

One thing I really enjoyed on my first visit was the Holiday Spirits Square, which had about 4-5 stalls of Liquor brands offering free samples of drinks. They are only open on the Friday and Weekends.
